Operational Excellence Specialist - Mount Vernon

The Operational Excellence Specialist is responsible for the coaching of site personnel in the practical application of Lean and Six Sigma tools and techniques in order to deliver sustainable benefits and increase capability to meet the needs of our customers.
Responsibilities:
Focuses on improving manufacturing and business processes through the application of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other Operational Excellence principles.
Works with Support and Production staff to identify and prioritize productivity and other cost reduction initiatives.
Assists in maintaining project portfolios aligned to strategic objectives. Provides input to the decision making process for project identification, prioritization, and execution.
Applies Operational Excellence tools such as statistical process control, 5S, Standard Work, waste analysis, and value stream mapping to identify and analyze trends, quantify organizational problems, and facilitate cross-functional and multi-level teams to find solutions. Summarizes the analysis of large data sets for site leadership review, including recommended action plans.
Assists in maintaining the site metrics. Designs, creates, and implements visual shop floor metrics performance systems and supporting analytical tools; trains support and production staff in the use and on-going maintenance of those performance systems.
Coaches the rotational Operational Excellence Project Leaders during project execution and implementation in order to ensure they are using the appropriate process; acts as an educational resource as needed.
Uses effective project management methodologies to ensure that projects have well defined and appropriately scoped charters, milestones, thorough risk analyses, and logical benefit estimations.
Develops the organization's Operational Excellence capability.
Coaches and mentors production and support staff to actively advance the knowledge and application of Operational Excellence methodology, tools, and techniques; develops action plans to improve current performance.
Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field.
Required:
Understanding of budgeting and finance in a manufacturing organization.
Demonstrated ability to drive change and achieve business results through leadership of projects and cross-functional teams.
Strong ability to build relationships and network across multiple levels of the organization, including Leadership Team levels.
Strong aptitude for project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project life cycle.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
Desired:
Certification preferred at the Black Belt level for Lean and/or Six Sigma.
Experience developing, deploying, and sustaining an Operational Excellence program preferred.
Previous experience in the pharmaceutical or other regulated industry preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
