As Senior Building & Reliability Manager in Mt. Vernon, IN, you will be accountable for ensuring all GMP utilities and facility assets are operating and maintained to mitigate risk of disruption to production operations, across multiple shifts (24/7). You will be responsible for all reliability-based systems and related performance throughout the GMP production Process Execution Team (PET) and Facilities environments. As an active member of the regional reliability team, the incumbent will develop strategic direction, continuously driving performance through harmonization of procedures, systems, and metrics.
This role requires extensive collaboration within the Facilities Maintenance & Engineering team, PETs, System Owners, as well as with OEM suppliers to optimize quality and performance of the operation. As a key member of the Facilities Management & Engineering Leadership team, you will engage with stakeholders and customers, while simultaneously managing a technical staff that provides highly-effective system support in the areas of Maintenance Best Practice through SAP, documentation, and program delivery and management. This role further serves as the Mt. Vernon Site's SAP PM and reliability program leader, driving a lean culture through Total Productive Maintenance and Enterprise Asset Management solutions. As a responsible leader, this role must maintain effective employee relations and compliance to cGMP, other regulatory requirements, as well as SHE obligations and AstraZeneca Standards. Fiscal responsibility will include accountability for budget management for assigned cost centers.
Major Responsibilities:
Leads the Facilities Maintenance organization to deliver services to customers to meet critical business parameters, while managing an agile workforce
Interfaces with engineers, vendors, technicians, facility staff, and PET members to effectively develop and implement system reliability improvements
Ensures maintenance excellence strategies are driven throughout facilities
Coordinates technical resources for electrical and mechanical equipment and system troubleshooting
Accountable for ensuring documentation and systems (e.g., work order processes) are updated and maintained
Provides technical guidance for mechanics, technicians, and maintenance engineers/system owners
As system owner for key utility and facility systems, drives continuous improvement programs, such as maintenance excellence to deliver improvements in asset reliability, availability, and costs
PM effectiveness and performance
Life cycle management ownership of facility assets
Uses risk analysis to ensure appropriate spare parts inventory is maintained
Drives root cause analysis of machine failures
Develops and delivers strategic asset master plans
Supports regulatory inspections as SME (Subject Matter Expert)
Works collaboratively with system owners to ensure proper technical support is available for maintenance excellence and capital improvement projects
Participates in the design, selection, installation, and qualification of new equipment and facilities
Develops and maintain relationships with OEM suppliers
Accountable for budgets and efficiency (including energy efficiency) of assigned assets
Directs the activities to maintain and enhance the use of the computerized maintenance management system to ensure proper data collection, record-keeping, and reporting. Accurate data collection is essential in meeting FDA documentation requirements, cost accounting requirements, and measuring maintenance and storeroom performance.
Drives SAP PM Utilization to meet business needs, inclusive of SAP enhancements, upgrades while serving as Site business owner
Develops and implements effective site MBP KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) based on SAP master and transactional data. Coordinates yearly audits, links outputs to drive a continuous improvement environment.
Identifies and implements Lean business opportunities with regards to Work Orders and life cycle management of assets
Manages the Facilities expense budgets providing support to ABU and RBU process, monitor monthly expense, and conduct variance analysis
Provides effective leadership, career development, and performance management for direct reports
This is primarily a day shift position; however, as this role is accountable for multi-shift activities, there is a requirement to periodically work off-shift and/or weekend shifts to engage all FME personnel in continuous improvement and system ownership activities.
Essential Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or a related field)
Minimum 5 years' experience in Facilities or Production Reliability Management
Minimum 5 years' experience in GMP or regulated production with specific responsibility for equipment performance
Minimum 4 years' experience with supervising others and/or project management
Demonstrated experience leading Maintenance Teams
Experience working in a manufacturing operation, demonstrating excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and collaboration skills
Highly-developed skills with planning, organizing, time-management, problem-solving, negotiating, influencing, and making decisions
Desirable Experience:
Training and/or experience in any of the applicable following technologies: Mechanics; Hydraulics; Pneumatics; Boiler House Operations; Vacuum Technology; Electronics; Programmable Logic Controllers; Refrigeration; Test Equipment for Electrical and Mechanical trouble shooting; and/or HVAC-controlled environment
Experience working in a LEAN manufacturing environment
