The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Bookkeeper to perform various accounting functions in support of the Finance office.
Duties include tasks relating to the rag program, gratuity program, store database, budgets, payroll, and insurances. Other duties include completing credit applications, providing copies of tax exempt forms to vendors, maintaining food stamp records, and following up outstanding accounts receivables. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for adjusting journals, accounts receivable/payable, office deposits, petty cash, bank reconciliation, data backup, and month end reports. The Bookkeeper is also responsible for supervision of the Payroll Clerk and/or Accounting Clerk.
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred) and 3-4 years experience in finance, be self-motivated and able to work independently. The job requires strong computer skills and knowledge of accounting functions.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
