The RN Supervisor provides unit-based staff and clinical oversight to his or her assigned unit and shift.
He or she is responsible for providing supervision to all unit staff; direct nursing care to residents; completing comprehensive shift rounds; ensuring communication during inter-shift report; and assisting with the admission and discharge of residents.
The ideal incumbent will possess both strong clinical and managerial skills.
A high degree of empathy and interpersonal awareness is critical, as is the ability to take initiative and act in accordance with Wartburg philosophies and standards.
RN Supervisor
Responsibilities:
Provides direct nursing care according to professional standards, facility policy, and physician orders.
Operates units with a high degree of fiscal responsibility.
Participates in the admission and discharge of residents and performs rounds.
Provides clinical supervision is required as well as supervision to direct reports.
Maintains and develops work -related knowledge and skills through continuous learning activities, attendance at in-services and workshops, etc.
Completes special projects/ tasks in support of effective department functioning as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements:
A current RN License is required.
3-5 years previous experience in a sub-acute or long-term care setting is required, as is previous management experience.
Preference given to those with management experience in a long-term care setting.
