The Production Supervisor is responsible for management of Union employees on the wire drawing floor and equipment and material resources to ensure manufacturing goals and priorities are consistently met.
The Supervisor has day-to-day responsibility for workflow scheduling, assignment of staff to production areas and tasks, and the management and continual safety of all employees, visitors, equipment and resources on the Wire drawing floor.
The Supervisor possesses a thorough knowledge of the manufacturing process, and the ability to work with staff and management.
The position will be extremely hands on in nature, working with various product lines to ensure production is efficient and productive.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Generate and maintain daily/weekly/monthly production schedule and create/execute subsequent plan.
Manage materials and WIP in support of the production schedules.
Continuous review and understanding of open orders that are waiting to be in queue for processing.
Identify and assess material availability against all orders in queue and awaiting processing.
Monitor and participate in the daily workflow of the production floor in order to ensure both equipment and employees are productive, efficient and orders are delivered on time.
At times, required to accommodate special orders.
Ensure the production floor is maintained as a clean, neat/organized, and safe work area.
Lead and execute 5S projects.
Assist General manager and quality assurance department whereas it pertains to training of new employees or updating procedures.
Consistently promote and enforce safety, security and other company rules and regulations.
Monitor the quality of products being manufactured to ensure the products meet the customer specification.
Assist in solving manufacturing quality problems with Quality Assurance and Engineering department.
Maintain consistent communications with the General Manager and ensure he is informed of problems and progress.
Maintain supplies and order, as necessary, for the production floor.
Supervision of approximately Union production employees Qualifications include:
8-10 years Manufacturing experience.
At least 3 in a management role.
Experience working with metals and specifically the manufacturing process of rolling and drawing of wire is highly valued.
Strong computer skills specifically in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Strong experience with ERP systems- creating reports, exporting data, making edits.
Proven experience with data analysis, forecasting, and scheduling.
Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal Understanding of Manufacturing processes and concepts Previous supervisory experience Strong listening and problem-solving skills.
Must possess a high level of integrity and discretion.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail Team player with ability to work independently.
Willingness to be flexible with tasks and assignments, cross-training within department, pitching in as needed to meet the needs of the business.
Compensation and Benefits Annual Salary is a wide range based on relevant work experience $70,000 - $90,000.
